Finding Practice | Farnley Hey

Finding Practice is part of an ongoing, long-term personal project. In conversation, documenting artist, makers and creative people where they live and work.

As part of the project I met with Studio VC in West Yorkshire at Farnley Hey. Built in 1954, Farnley Hey takes influences from the modernist, Bauhaus and International Design Movement of the early 20th Century. Designed by architect Peter Womersley and awarded the R.I.B.A bronze medal in 1957, it was the one of the first post war buildings to be given Grade II listed status by English Heritage and remains on of the UK’s leading examples of mid-century design.
